Following his arrival at Chelsea, Todd Boehly has made a clear point of revamping the squad from top to bottom.

Bruce Buck, Marina Granovskaia, Petr Cech and Thomas Tuchel, among others, have all been shown the door or stepped down since the club changed ownership, and there has been a new casualty.

This comes courtesy from French journalist Bruno Constant, who took to Twitter to reveal that Thierry Laurent, who had been the club’s head physio for the past 17 years, was relieved of his duties.

Furthermore, the manner in which Chelsea and Boehly have undergone these changes is described as ‘extremely brutal’.

The reason Constant says this is because Laurent was made aware of his dismissal via a ‘Zoom video call’, which many would agree is a rather impersonal way of handling the matter.

After all, his long-time service at Chelsea should have at least earned him a face to face discussion to let him know of the plan.

The 57-year-old Laurent arrived at Chelsea in 2005 after spending time at FC Les Lilas 93 and Viry-Châtillon, and has served for France as a physio on two separate occasions, first between 1990-2005 before returning for the 2012-14 period.
