Hugo Ekitike has impressed for Reims this season, managing eight goals and four assists in 19 matches in all competitions.

The striker’s form has not gone unnoticed, especially in England. A week ago, several reports from France linked him to West Ham United, Leicester City, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Now it is Chelsea’s turn as the west London club have become the latest Premier League side to reportedly join the chase for the 19-year-old.

The France U20 international’s suitors list in England continues to grow as Foot Mercato state he has the ‘entire Premier League drooling’ for him.

It’s claimed the Blues have now taken an interest in the young frontman and Thomas Tuchel’s side have ‘contacted’ the Ligue 1 club for a ‘possible transfer’ next summer.

The player’s current deal lasts until 2024 and the report adds that it ‘will be necessary to pay at least €40m’ to take Ekitike away from the French club after this season.

It’s not made clear whether Chelsea are ready to meet these demands to sign Ekitike.
