Chelsea will only have to talk to Real Madrid if they wish to bring Eden Hazard back to the club in January or the summer.

That’s according to ABC, who say it is a matter of opening talks to bring the Belgian back to Stamford Bridge.

Hazard finds himself out of the picture with the Spanish giants, with persistent injury issues in his two years at the club so far, meaning he’s never established himself as the star he once was.

That’s led to others replacing him in the squad and Carlo Ancelotti now relying on the likes of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo ahead of him.

Thus, Madrid would be happy to get rid of him given his wages, and the forward is ‘on the market’ for both January and the summer.

ABC explain if Hazard were to make it clear he wants to leave in January, then Madrid will not object. They won’t, though, force him out of the door and will be happy to let him wait until the summer if that is his preference.

The player is more than aware of his situation and the fact he is ‘transferable’ for the club and would prefer to be at a club where he is the star man, as he was with Chelsea.

He would seemingly want a move then, and there are several Premier League sides willing to offer it, including Chelsea, who are ‘considering signing him’.

Indeed ABC state confidently that ‘if they talk to Real Madrid, they will have no problem’. In other words, there is a deal to be done.

Everything depends on what Hazard wants, though, and both parties are now waiting to see if he wants to leave in January or would prefer to wait until July.
