Known to partake in the occasional purchase of a young talented player, Chelsea are currently trying to sign a 15-year-old striker in France, if Mercato365 are to be believed.
According to the French website, the Premier League leaders have ‘concretely’ positioned themselves in an attempt to sign Willem Geubbels, currently playing for Lyon’s U19 side.
In fact, Chelsea are said to have already made contact with the forward’s father, but could face competition from other English sides.
However, Mercato365 seem to think a move to Stamford Bridge, as things stand, appears to be the likeliest option for Geubbels, who wouldn’t be against an exit from Lyon.
The 15-year-old was a regular for France’s U16 side, picking up five caps between September 2016 and February 2017, scoring three goals.
However, the youngster was promoted to their U17 side last month, where he picked up two goals in two games against Belgium, as well as an assist.
Whether or not this comes off remains to be seen, but it seems Chelsea could end up picking up a talented player in the near future.
