Chelsea and Barcelona are ‘close to reaching a transfer agreement’ for defender Marcos Alonso to move to the Nou Camp this summer.
That’s according to Sport, who say Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has given his approval to the deal happening.
They report that Chelsea and Barcelona are set to meet at a summer next week, at which the transfer will be ‘finalised’ and an asking price agreed on.
Chelsea are currently looking for a figure around €10m for the defender, a figure which should be ‘fixed’ at next week’s meeting.
The idea at Barcelona is that the left-back will be a part of their tour of the United States, having been approved as a potential addition by Xavi and his team for months.
Unlike with teammate Cesar Azpilicueta, Chelsea have agreed to let him leave this summer and negotiate is sale to Barcelona, although, like everything, it has been delayed by the change of ownership.
Thus a meeting has been planned for next week in which they will finalise the sale price, with Barcelona hoping to negotiate a fixed price of less than €10m with variables included.
