Following all the reports regarding Flamengo’s efforts for the signing Robert Kenedy from Chelsea, outlet Globo Esporte now features an interesting piece on the latest events of this saga.
The website reports that the Blues called the Brazilian side on Thursday and told them they’re yet to make a decision regarding the player’s future.
Chelsea have ‘demanded’ that Kenedy, who’s still in Rio de Janeiro, returns to the club so he can have the pre-season with the squad and wait for the developments on his situation.
The story explains that Flamengo are having an internal fight between the football and the sporting departments, and for that reason, they still haven’t decided how much they can spend on the signing.
All Flamengo could do was to ask Chelsea about the conditions for a loan, and the answer from the Premier League side is that they’ll leave those talks for later.
When the Blues asked the Brazilian club to make their offer formal, they didn’t even get a response.
According to Globo Esporte, Chelsea will only loan Kenedy out if they get no offers for a sale, and in case of a temporary move, they’d rather keep him in Europe.
That’s why Flamengo can now only hope that no European clubs will make an offer for the winger.
