As Italian clubs struggle to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea this summer, the Italian media continues to bring reports saying the Blues are playing hardball for his departure.
The latest update comes from Tutto Mercato Web, who says that the midfielder’s return to AC Milan ‘isn’t very simple’.
They write that Chelsea, who’ve just extended the player’s contract until 2023, have ‘no intention’ of letting Bakayoko go on a free transfer or on another loan.
The report claims this is a ‘complicated deal’ because unlike Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel is actually ready to keep the midfielder for next season.
Tutto Mercato Web claims Milan will keep waiting to see if Chelsea’s position will change before the end of August. The outlet adds that Inter Milan had also been interested in his signing, but ‘face the same problems’.
So as Serie A clubs fight for a signing they don’t want to pay for, the Italian media still points towards Chelsea as the club who are making the deal difficult.
