The rumours about Lucas Moura’s possible move to the Premier League in January just keep getting bigger and bigger.

Things have been building in the past couple of weeks, with the Brazilian and French press both saying the player should leave Paris Saint Germain.

Now there’s an interesting update from UOL, reporting that when choosing his next destination, Lucas wants England to be the first option… and that’s where Arsenal and Chelsea come in.

Unsatisfied with little game time this season, the player is seeking a move to a place where he can feature regularly, and maybe get a World Cup spot for Brazil.

According to UOL, Moura spoke to PSG manager Unai Emery at the start of the season, and despite being told that he wouldn’t have many opportunities, the player decided to stay and give it a shot, especially because of his friendship with Neymar.

There were two other reasons why the stay was necessary: his son was about to be born, and he also needed to live there until January to complete five years in Paris and get the French citizenship.

Now with all issues resolved, Lucas has decided to leave the club, but only if for a top side. That’s why he rejected approaches from Sporting and Monaco lately.

UOL points out that Juventus have recently been linked to the player by the Italian press, but Arsenal and Chelsea, who are said to have an ‘old interest’, are seen as more exciting options.

PSG would be looking for €30m in case of a permanent transfer, but the player’s situation on the bench would also convince them to let him go on a loan deal.

Still this week, the French press had a couple of stories saying that Lucas has been offered to Chelsea, with the possibility of the Blues signing him to replace Willian being considered.

And it’s also interesting that only Chelsea and Arsenal are getting a mention this time, because the last time we covered a story from UOL, Liverpool and Manchester United were also said to be in touch.

So Lucas seems to have a pretty good market in the Premier League, and if he’s really that determined to make a move, it’s likely that we’ll be seeing him in England soon.
