Having already lost a number of their youngsters on frees when their contracts ran down, Paris Saint-Germain will be hoping to avoid any more scenarios going forward.
Players like Kingsley Coman, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Claudio Gomes or even Boubakary Soumaré all left for other clubs in hope of finding first-team football elsewhere, and when clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea are hovering around one of your 17-year-olds, it’s normal to be a bit worried.
That’s what’s currently happening with Kays Ruiz-Atil, who joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in 2015, and whose contract with the Ligue 1 champions expires in 2021.
According to Foot Mercato, both Chelsea and Arsenal, joined by Borussia Dortmund and Juventus, are following his situation ‘with great interest’ and keeping an eye on the young midfielder.
They explain the player received a first offer from Paris Saint-Germain to renew his contract, but it didn’t ‘hold his attention’, as he and his entourage feel he deserved more wages.
The French side are now expected to offer him a new, improved offer, and there will be hope he accepts.
Paris Saint-Germain have the advantage as Ruiz-Atil has made staying in the French capital a priority, and it will be up to Chelsea and Arsenal to convince him otherwise if they get to that stage.
