Chelsea are interested in a deal for VfB Stuttgart full-back Borna Sosa in the summer, with the German club looking for €30m.

That’s according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Marc Behrenbeck, who follows up reports yesterday of the Blues interest in the left-back.

We covered a report from Fussball Transfers yesterday that stated Chelsea would like to sign the defender, but his club were resisting any efforts.

Chelsea weren’t the only Premier League club interested as Aston Villa were also in the picture at one point but were no longer keen after signing Lucas Digne from Everton.

Behrenbeck backs this up, stating that Aston Villa wanted Sosa and held negotiations, but the ‘deal fell through’ in the end.

Now it is Chelsea who are leading the English race for Sosa’s signature, with it stated they and Inter Milan and ‘among others’ looking for a deal in the summer.

He repeats the €30m asking price from FT, with that the price Stuttgart are looking to get for the 24-year-old should he leave.

There’s no mention of whether Chelsea are willing to spend that amount, but we’re sure that’s something which will become clearer should they move in the summer as expected.
