Surprising claims from the Italian media today say that Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic has an agreement to join Chelsea.
The information was brought by journalist Sandro Sabatini, who on Sport Mediaset, claimed the 33-year-old is now ready to complete a move to the Stamford Bridge.
“Chelsea have an agreement already formalised with Perisic: it is clear that there are no medical examinations, details, but if Perisic does not go to Chelsea it would already be a blow scene. The news of the day is that Perisic is very close to Chelsea,” said Sabatini (via Calciomercato.it).
Ivan Perisic’s contract with Inter Milan expires this summer, so Chelsea don’t need an agreement with the Nerazurri to land the player.
Playing for the Serie A side this season, the winger had nine goals and eight assists.
He had been heavily linked to a move to Juventus, so joining the Blues would avoid this ‘betrayal’ where he’d join their league rivals.
Perisic has been linked with a Premier League move for years, and it seemed like English clubs could never afford the price demanded by Inter.
Now with the chance of signing him for free, it seems that Chelsea are making a quick move to get him as early as possible.
