Chelsea have reportedly taken an important step in the negotiations with Boca Juniors for Aarón Anselmino.

According to Brandsen 805 and relayed by TyC Sports, the Blues accepted that the player stays in Argentina for another year.

It’s said that in the last few hours, Chelsea had been in talks with Boca Juniors and gave their green light for the request.

The Buenos Aires side would then guarantee they’ll have Anselmino in their squad until December. Then the Blues can either bring him to London or let him stay there for six more months.

Chelsea are said to be ready to sign the player with a six-year contract. They’ll be paying Boca Juniors US$18m for the transfer.

Anselmino only has ten appearances for the Argentine club. TyC Sports claim they are now planning to use him as much as possible and make him a protagonist in the coming months.

That should be good for Chelsea, who’ll get a more experienced player at the time of the transfer, especially if only next summer.
