In what has been an eventful day for Chelsea fans, Michael Olise turned his back on the Blues and signed a new contract with Crystal Palace.
That led to claims that the Stamford Bridge side had turned their attention to Brennan Johnson, but that’s not what RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins is reporting.
The journalist took to Twitter to reveal that Chelsea are actually going after Bradley Barcola, currently at Lyon and who could be sold for the right amount.
He states the Premier League side have ‘accelerated’ their efforts to sign the Ligue 1 starlet in the past few hours, and he is on their shortlist after their failure to get a transfer for Olise over the line.
Paris Saint-Germain are providing competition, however, and while Lyon have ‘slightly opened’ the door for a transfer, they also have refused an offer of €35m (including bonuses) for the 20-year-old.
As of yet, the player has not given a ‘definitive answer’ regarding his future, but we’re a long-term contract at Chelsea and nice pay rise could certainly change his mind.
On top of this, in an article on the matter, RMC Sport also add that talks have ‘intensified’ between the Blues and the Ligue 1 side, while Barcola is waiting for a club to agree with his before holding any personal talks.
