Davinson Sanchez has made his mind up and wants to sign for Tottenham Hotspur, reports Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

Ajax’s ‘not for sale’ stance has been seen as pretty transparent in the Netherlands. Whilst in principle they’d like to keep the defender, in practice it’s clear the club are now trying to get the best fee they possibly can.

That’s seen other clubs dragged into the scenario.

On Saturday De Telegraaf claimed Barcelona and Real Madrid could be competition for Tottenham, and now Chelsea have also been dragged into the picture.

Ajax’s problem is, even if any of those sides make an actual offer, Sanchez has spoken to Pochettino and it’s left him wanting a transfer to Tottenham. Things can change, and it’s probably best for Spurs to get this one over the line sooner rather than on August 31st.

According to the Dutch newspaper, Tottenham will travel to Amsterdam on Monday for talks over the signing.

Refusing a new offer over €40m would be ‘crazy’ according to De Telegraaf, and it’s claimed Chelsea interest is becoming more concrete, plus Real Madrid are preparing an offer.

Claims about other clubs could be Ajax bluffing, but Tottenham probably shouldn’t take that chance.
