According to Russian web site Sport Mail, Spartak Moscow will not activate their right of redemption on Chelsea central midfielder Mario Pasalic.
The Croatian midfielder joined Spartak on a season long loan, but it seems unlikely he’ll remain with the Russian champions.
A summer return to Chelsea now looks on the cards, but he’s still struggle to force himself into the plans of Antonio Conte’s (or his replacement) plans due to the competition for midfield places at Stamford Bridge.
The 23 year old, who also had loan spells at Monaco and AC Milan in recent seasons, has featured in 18 games for Russian club in this campaign, scoring 4 goals in the league.
Pasalic is contracted to Chelsea until 2021, but would almost certainly need to go back out on loan to get playing time next season.
Joining Chelsea in 2014, it may be time for the footballer to push for a permanent exit.
