Still no Henry Onyekuru.
The 19-year-old Eupen winger, targeted by Celtic, went missing on Thursday when his current club decided to reject the offer from Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Expected to turn up on Thursday evening to face Standard Liège in the Jupiler Pro League, Het Nieuwsblad report the player ‘sent his cat’ instead, meaning he failed to turn up, as Onyekuru tries to get his move to Celtic Park.
Following the game, which ended in a 2-2 draw, Eupen’s director of football Josep Colomer explained the situation, stating: “The number of players won’t change. Until we have a replacement, no one leaves.”
The Belgian side are said to be asking for somewhere in between €3-4m for their star winger, while Celtic have only offered just over €1m so far, which was swiftly rejected.
Onyekuru, prior to pulling his Houdini stunt to force his Celtic move, had scored 12 goals and picked up six assists in 25 appearances for the small Belgian side this season.
Eupen currently sit 13th in the Jupiler Pro League with 21 points from 23 games, six points ahead of last placed Mouscron.
