According to a claim in the Turkish media, Dusko Tosic has told Besiktas he wants to leave, after being refused a salary increase by the Turkish champions.
Toisc has been linked with a move to Celtic in recent weeks, as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his squad.
Askam have today reported on the latest developments surrounding Tosic’s future at Besiktas, following a reported bid from Celtic and interest from others. The Serbian defender has become a key player for Besiktas this season, and subsequently he’s asked for a wage rise.
However, Besiktas will not meet his demands, and now Tosic will evaluate offers which come in for him.
The 32 year old could leave the Turkish side this window after the arrival of Domagoj Vida, and Celtic are in the mix to sign the Serbia international, after reports they’ve tabled a €3m bid.
It was recently claimed Celtic were leading the way for Tosic, as Brendan Rodgers looks to bring in a replacement for Erik Sviatchenko.
However, more clubs have joined the race for the player including Everton, Leicester City, Stoke City and Trabzonspor.
