Celtic FC are today pointed out as one of the possible destinations for Barcelona midfielder Alex Collado.
A report from AS today claims that the player is ‘very close’ to leaving the Camp Nou side. It’s said that his agent, Marc Sanllehi, had a meeting on Wednesday with the Catalan club to sort his departure.
Now with this ‘imminent exit’, it’s said there are many clubs who have made offers to sign him on loan. Some of them are Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic, Olympiacos, Eibar and Girona.
The La Liga sides would have some advantage, since the player’s preference is to stay in Spain. Still, AS makes it clear that there are ‘no doors closed’, so all of them stand a chance.
So as his agent ‘hopes to close a loan’ soon, it seems like a matter of time until his destination is chosen.
Collado has been getting little playing time at Barcelona, and that’s why he took the decision to leave.
Before the player moves to Celtic or any other club, the Camp Nou side’s intention is to renew his contract.
His current deal runs for one more year, and they want it extended until 2024.
