Making his breakthrough last season and consolidating his first-team status this year, Nathanaël Mbuku is turning heads around Europe.
The young winger, currently contracted to Stade de Reims in Ligue 1, is seen as one of the best youngsters from their academy to come through in recent years, and with 12 appearances this season (one goal and one assist) at the age of 18, he’s backing it up.
That being said, good performances at that age in a top league don’t go unnoticed, which is why Lille, Parma and Celtic are all interested in him.
This is according to Foot Mercato in France, who explain all three of those team have ‘started approaches over the past few days to find out the conditions of a sale’.
That means there’s a real interest from Neil Lennon’s side to get him, as the manager and those above look to reinforce their attack, perhaps hoping, down the line, to pull off a similar deal to that of Moussa Dembélé or even, in the more than likely near future, Odsonne Édouard.
First, however, they would have to pay €8m, which is what Foot Mercato report Stade de Reims will be asking for their starlet.
It’s also added that Celtic could have less competition in January, as Lille’s interest would be more for the summer than in the coming weeks.
