Celtic’s Moussa Dembele is one of the players on the 40 man shortlist to be named Tuttosport’s ‘Golden Boy’ of 2016.
It’s the 14th year of the award and previous winners include the likes of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, and last year’s winner Anthony Martial of Manchester United.
Dembele impressed with Fulham last season, even in the Championship, and Celtic beat off interest from several other clubs to sign the player.
The 20 year old’s decision to join Celtic has so far looked very wise, as Brendan Rodgers gives him plenty of minutes on the pitch, and therefore helps the Frenchman develop.
A hat-trick against Glasgow rivals Rangers brought a lot of attention to Dembele and his two Champions League goals against Manchester City have made the news around Europe.
It’s probably unlikely that Dembele will win the award, given the competition he’s up against, but his recent performances are likely to see the player ranked quite highly.
