According to a claim in the Swedish media, Celtic will hold a ‘crucial meeting’ with Mikael Lustig over the right back’s future with the Scottish Premiership club.

In recent weeks the Sweden international has been linked with a back to his home country with Swedish champions AIK.

Fotbol Direkt have reported on the latest developments over Lustig’s links with AIK and they say the Swedish club have been in contact with the Celtic player over a possible transfer in the summer.

It’s also hoped his international teammate Seb Larsson could be a factor in any deal after the former Hull City midfielder endorsed the club, but it’s likely to come down to Celtic’s plans for the defender and how much he wants a move or not.

Celtic reportedly have the option to extend his contract by another season, but if Lustig pushes to go then his requests may be considered.

Fotbol Direkt say they have tried to contact AIK sporting director Björn Wesström, Lustig’s agent Martin Dahlin, and the Celtic player himself, bto try and get comment… without success.
