AS Roma Live have an exclusive on the Serie A club’s interest in Sidnei Tavares, and it brings Celtic into the equation.

According to the claims, Roma have moved into the picture for the Leicester City player, and they join the likes of Celtic, Barcelona and Juventus. That would be some serious competition for Neil Lennon’s side, and Roma have already asked for information about a possible move.

Celtic, meanwhile, are ‘monitoring’ the situation, perhaps waiting to see if there’ll be an opportunity for them to make a swoop ahead of next summer.

Tavares is a 19-year-old midfielder, and it’s thought his contract with the Premier League club expires at the end of June this year. That means Celtic and other interested clubs are now free to start negotiations over a potential free transfer in the summer.

Roma may be looking to get ahead of that situation, with it claimed the club are considering a move in the current market, and that could encourage Celtic and others into action.
