According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are in pole position to sign Fenerbahce goalkeeper Uğurcan Cakir.
Celtic have been linked with the Turkey international recently as Brendan Rodgers looks to bring in a new goalkeeper.
Fotospor have reported on the latest developments regarding the future of Cakir after Fenerbahce president Ertugrul Doğan announced the player would be leaving the Yellow Canaries this summer.
It’s claimed Galatasaray are the only team now interested in Cakir, with Celtic seemingly given up on the 28-year-old. Gala are now expected to make an offer for him as they look to replace veteran Fernando Muslera.
It seems Rodgers will have to look elsewhere as he works to bring in a goalkeeper to replace Joe Hart. The former England international confirmed earlier in the season he would be retiring from football and that his three year stay at Celtic Park would be coming to an end.
Only last week there were UK reports stating Cakir was close to signing for the Scottish champions, but it seems at this stage he will be remaining in the Super Lig.
