Celtic are back in the picture for Grêmio midfielder Fernando Henrique, according to claims from Brazil.

The information is now brought by journalist Matheus D’Avila (via Portal do Gremista), who claims the Scottish Premiership side ‘keep in touch’ for the signing.

Even though the 20-year-old hasn’t been playing lately, as Grêmio are in a huge crisis fighting relegation, it’s said that didn’t stop the interest from Celtic Park.

Fernando Henrique is one of the young talents at the Southern side who should be sold by the club in case they end up in Série B next season.

The player’s agent, however, claims there are no offers on the table yet, from Celtic or anyone else, as there’s only speculation that a deal will get done.

Celtic’s first approach for Fernando Henrique had been reported a month ago by outlet Globo Esporte. At that time, it was claimed that an official from the Glasgow side got in touch with the player’s entourage to know more about his situation.

Now last Monday, they had another story pointing out that the player hasn’t been used by Grêmio for two months. Given the interest that clubs have in his signing, it’s said it’s now very likely that he’ll leave them at the end of the year.
