Celtic are back chasing Polish defender Pawel Dawidowicz, according to reports.
The news comes from Italian outlet Tutto Hellas Verona, who say Neil Lennon’s side should now make a more serious approach for the 25-year-old.
It’s claimed that Celtic had looked for the player ‘with no success’ in the past. Now there’s an effort which could have a different ending.
Tutto Hellas Verona points out that Dawidowicz has always made it clear he’d like to stay at the Italian club. However, they also treat the Celtic interest as a real possibility, claiming he could leave them at the end of the season.
Dawidowicz first joined Hellas Verona on a loan deal from Benfica back in 2018, and then had his move made permanent in 2019 for €3.5m, Celtic are now expected to make an effort for him.
Since his contract with the Serie A side expires in 2022, this summer should be decisive for him to take a stand on whether he’s staying or leaving the club. He’s currently valued by Trnasfermarkt at €2.5m
