Christpher Jullien is a player who has been much linked with a move to the UK, and now it looks like he could be joining Celtic.

The Toulouse defender has spoken previously about the possibility of a transfer, inspired by his former teammate Issa Diop.

Diop swapped Ligue 1 for the Premier League, with West Ham, and that provided some inspiration.

In May of this year, the 26 year old said: “I saw him again recently. He spoke to me about a lot of things, like his adventure, how things were over there. It’s true that it’s enticing and it makes you want it. We know the Premier League is a super impressive league. He’s convinced I’ll be joining him there soon (smiles), but, as I said, I’m still at Toulouse and we’ll see about the future.”

The Scottish Premiership looks much more likely now as L’Equipe report an ‘agreement in principle’ has been reached between Celtic and Toulouse for the player’s transfer.

The fee is put at around €8m, which would represent a big investment for the Glasgow club.

Celtic are said to have been in talks for several days, before the agreement was reached. There’s no claims on personal terms for the Toulouse player.

Jullien has a contract with the Ligue 1 club until June 2021.
