Olivier Ntcham has been a man in the news this week.

Agreeing to renew at Celtic is a boost to the Scottish Premiership club, and, in the case another side do try to sign the midfielder over the next couple of windows, it gives Brendan Rodgers and co more chance to refuse or push for a high fee.

Ntcham had been linked with moves during the last summer window and whilst the vast majority of the rumours didn’t seem to have much behind them, it still contributed to a feeling of uncertainty.

The contract renewal solves that almost completely, and now 22 year old Ntcham can get on with the rest of his career.

L’Equipe report that won’t involve going away with France’s U21s for the current international break.

The Celtic player has had to pull out to a ‘thigh elongation’. That’s a muscle strain.

There’s no further information on how serious or not the injury is, but it’s not presented as a big problem.

The break, coming during an international period, may do Ntcham and Celtic good.
