On Tuesday, we covered claims from Italy about a renewed AC Milan interest in Kristoffer Ajer.
It was explained that whilst the Celtic player isn’t top of the Rossoneri’s wanted list, with those spots reserved for either Wesley Fofana, now on his way to Leicester City, or Nikola Milenković, the 22-year-old remains an option for Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara.
Milan, like most Italian clubs with most players these days, only wanted Ajer on a loan deal, and Celtic were unsurprisingly against this option. The Scottish Premiership club’s asking price was put at €20m.
Things won’t go much further than that, with the report saying the Glasgow side are now asking for €30m.
Such a fee would put Ajer out of the reach of near enough every interested club, and if it’s true Celtic have gone to that level then the likelihood of the player moving before the deadline is very low indeed.
