Roma are closing in on the signing of Celtic fullback Boli Bolingoli, according to reports from the Italian media today.

Website Tutto Mercato Web says the Giallorossi have targeted the player as a replacement for Aleksandar Kolarov, who’s just left for Inter Milan.

It’s claimed that Roma are set to have new contacts with Celtic during the day, and his arrival at the club is ‘getting closer’.

But the report also says that there’s a big competition for Bolingoli.

They claim that Basaksehir, from Turkey, and Anderlecht and Antwerp, from Belgium, are all interested in the 25-year-old as well.

It’s not said how much Roma, or any of these clubs are willing to pay for the player. Tutto Mercato Web don’t seem to know how much are Celtic demanding either.

The Scottish side spent just over €3m to sign him from Rapid Vienna last summer, but he only managed to make 14 appearances under Neil Lennon last season.
