Celtic will have to move quickly to sign ADO Den Haag defender Milan van Ewijk, with Heerenveen having made a move to secure his signature.
The Hoops were named as suitors for van Ewijk last month, with Voetbal International explaining they were one of several clubs keen on him for this summer.
The right-back has been earning rave reviews in the Netherlands this season, with it stated that he is one of the ‘few bright spots’ in an otherwise disappointing campaign for Den Haag.
His displays have earned him attention from several clubs, with it explain Celtic were one of a whole host sides who ‘emphatically followed’ the 20-year-old.
Indeed, they were said to have already ‘expressed their interest’ in a transfer, but they will now have to move quickly if they want to get him.
VI report that Heerenveen ‘have their eye’ on van Ewijk and expressed their interest in The Hague this week.
They’re looking for a new right-back to cover the imminent departure of Sherel Floranus this season while their current back up Jan Paul van Hecke is set to return to Brighton at the end of his loan spell.
Thus they are now ready to move for van Ewijk to fill the gap, meaning Celtic will have to move quickly if their interest is as real as it appeared to be a month ago.
