Former Cardiff City forward Lex Immers has agreed to join Belgian side Club Brugge, according to TMW. The Dutchman was released by Cardiff City this week, and had also been linked with a move to Celtic and Stuttgart.

TMW have today claimed Immers will be heading to Brugge on an 18 month deal. The Jupiler club have been linked with Immers for some time, ever since the player struggled to get in the Cardiff City side.

Neil Warnock confirmed yesterday the 31-year-old was no longer in his plans and was free to find a new club. Despite Celtic’s interest it always seemed likely he would sign for a club closer to his home country due to family reasons.

Yesterday we covered reports from the Netherlands that Immers was set to make a decision on his future within the next 48 hours and that Celtic were showing serious interest in the forward.

With Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers looking to bolster his squad in this window Immers was an option, but following these claims it looks like the SPL side will have to look elsewhere.
