Widely expected to leave even before his flirting with Marseille, Olivier Ntcham’s time at Celtic appears to be coming to an end.
If Neil Lennon’s comments weren’t enough to suggest the midfielder could be on his way out, the fact the Scottish Premiership side are looking at other players in his position might.
According to RMC Sport in France, Celtic have ‘made a first approach’ for Rennes’ James Léa Siliki, although what that entails isn’t explained.
It’s worth noting that signing the 23-year-old from the Ligue 1 side would cost more than €8m, since that’s what Porto offered for his services earlier on this summer, but were turned down.
The Portuguese side have yet to come back for a second attempt, meaning Celtic could be on their own here.
If they can get upwards of €10m for Ntcham from interested parties, then perhaps this one will just pay for itself down the line, and hopefully we’ll get more details on this in days to come.
