AC Milan are expected to shake up their options at fullback in the summer, and Celtic are set to play a major part in that.
Diego Laxalt is spending the current season on loan with the Scottish Premiership club and the Italian media expect Celtic to make an attempt to sign him on a longer term basis from Milan.
The only worry regarding a Laxalt stay has been the doubt surrounding Neil Lennon’s future. Even then, it’s been expected that if a managerial change is made in the summer, the Bhoys will simply delay their permanent move for the player, rather than completely shelve it.
Milan News report Celtic ‘would like to’ sign Laxalt permanently, yet the situation hasn’t been clarified. The Glasgow club need to reach a ‘definitive agreement’ with Milan, and whilst the will is there for that to happen, as always, the real test will come when figures start to be mentioned.
With the Rossoneri looking for funds for their own fullback signings, they’re going to push for as much as possible, although Milan News don’t share a figure at this stage.
