On August 28th, Celtic signed Álex Valle on a loan deal from Barcelona. The left-back has made seven appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side and it includes five starts.
The 20-year-old joined Celtic to continue his development. That’s according to Catalan newspaper Sport, who say the decision to move to Glasgow was made by both the left-back and his camp.
Hansi Flick showed desire to retain him at the Camp Nou. Valle decided to make a switch Celtic, where Brendan Rodgers has been his ‘main supporter’, to enjoy more game time.
Valle took time [until September 22nd] to make his first appearance against Falkirk in the Scottish League Cup. Since then, he’s been featuring regularly for Celtic.
Sport have provided an insight into how the fullback was able to settle in quickly in Scotland, explaining they’ve gathered their own information, due to the ‘impeccable’ treatment from Celtic.
It’s explained the fullback had a car, an apartment and insurance within four days of his arrival at Celtic Park. The player also knew English before moving to Glasgow.
Sport believe Celtic’s excellent treatment of the player is partly responsible for Valle quickly adapting in Scotland. This can only help Celtic should they look to take other Barcelona youngsters on loan in the future.
