Rome ‘continue to follow’ Celtic youngster Jeremie Frimpong as they look to add a full-back to Paulo Fonseca’s squad.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say Celtic need convincing to sanction a deal in the January transfer window.
Roma are keen to add a full-back to their squad in the winter window and are keen on FC Dallas’ Bryan Reynolds.
However, his performances have been earning attention from elsewhere, namely Juventus, and that means his price keeps rising.
The Bianconeri are in pole position to secure his signature and are about to close a deal with Cagliari, where they will be sending the 19-year-old on loan.
Frimpong is Roma’s alternative to the American and recent reports in Italy have stated that they’ve been in contact with his agent about a potential move.
Corriere back that up today, stating that they ‘continue to follow’ the 20-year-old, with manager Paulo Fonseca having ‘requested’ that the club sign the youngster.
Celtic, though, ‘do not seem willing’ to sell the Dutchman, who has started all 17 of the Scottish champions league games this season.
That would suggest Roma have a fair bit of work on if they’re to get their man, with this likely to run throughout January as a result.
