Celtic and Brentford are in the picture to sign Bayern Munich youngster Christopher Scott in the summer.
The 19-year-old was at Bayer Leverkusen before leaving them to join the Bavarian club’s academy in January 2021. He has operated in multiple attacking positions while representing Bayern’s reserve team this season, and managed six goals and two assists in 13 matches.
The Germany U20 international’s current deal will run down in June and the Bundesliga side are facing the threat of losing him, potentially to Celtic, even though they have a unilateral option to extend the deal by a further year.
That’s according to Sky Deutschland, who explain the player’s agent, Christian Nerlinger, was recently spotted with Scott’s father for talks with Bayern leaders.
It’s not made clear whether Celtic and Brentford have held talks with Julian Nagelsmann’s side or Scott’s representatives.
Sky adds Bayern could let Scott leave in the summer, but after extending his contract so that they can collect a fee of around €600,000. In addition to this, they could ‘then secure a buyback option’.
