For the past few days, we have covered several claims from Sky Deutschland on Celtic’s interest in Bayern Munich II player, Christopher Scott.

The 19-year-old’s contract expires in June, but the Bavarian club reportedly have an option to further extend it by a year.

On March 29th, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg stated Ange Postecoglou’s side and Brentford have held talks to sign the attacking midfielder.

A day later, Sky explained the teenager’s departure from the Bundesliga side is almost certain because he has been ‘flirting’ with clubs in the United Kingdom, where both the Hoops and Thomas Frank’s side were named.

It was also stated the Bundesliga winners plan to exercise the option to extend his deal until 2023 and then allow him leave for a fee of around €600,000.

On Wednesday, Plettenberg came up with another update to state the German club plan to extend the player’s contract and expect to earn €500,000 to €1m through his sale in the summer.

As things stand, Scott is a free agent in the summer and the situation will only change if Bayern exercise the unilateral option.

With multiple claims discussing Celtic’s interest in Scott, Bild journalist Christian Falk took to Twitter to report that Bayern ‘could lose their talent’ because of the contract situation.

Scott and his camp are unimpressed with the renewal proposal made by Bayern as Falk states the offer is ‘not high enough’ for them.

This news should come as an encouragement for Celtic and Brentford, who are looking to acquire the youngster’s services.
