Celtic are reportedly one of the many clubs interested in the Spanish striker Borja Iglesias.

According to outlet El Periódico de Aragón this Tuesday, the Scottish Premiership side have been monitoring the player’s situation for a long time, along with some competition from the Premier League.

Currently loaned by Celta de Vigo, Iglesias has been impressing for Real Zaragoza this season, where he has 13 goals and four assists.

His stay at the Second Division side is unlikely. First because he would certainly leave in case they fail to get promotion, and also because of the interested clubs.

With Brendan Rodgers and others said to be keen, the player is likely to be tempted by a summer move.

There’s also a problem that Iglesias and Celta De Vigo are struggling to reach an agreement for his renewal.

And since his current contract expires in 2019, in case there’s no deal before the summer, then he will certainly be sold. That basically leaves Zaragoza out of the race, since they would only be interested in another loan.

So Celtic have a pretty good shot. According to the report, the Scottish side have watched Iglesias several times this season, and although his agent doesn’t hold any offers for now, they are one of the clubs who could come seriously in the summer.
