Celtic have set their sights on Iranian forward Mehrdad Mohammadi, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
The 26-year-old left Iranian side Sepahan for Portuguese club last summer.
In his debut seasons in Liga NOS, he impressed with seven goals and five assists in 16 league appearances.
It’s claimed the Bhoys have ‘expressed interest’ in the attacker and there’s belief Celtic could soon convert their interest into something serious by submitting an offer to Desportivo Aves.
The player’s contract with his current employer runs down in 2022 and TMW doesn’t mention what would be the price tag needed to complete the transfer.
Even though Celtic like Mohammadi, there’s no mention if he or Desportivo Aves are open to a transfer in the winter market.
The Scottish Premiership champions lost Kieran Tierney last summer as he left Celtic for Arsenal. Neil Lennon’s side identified Mehrdad’s twin brother, Milad Mohammadi, as a target. However, they failed to acquire Milad’s services as he ended up joining Gent in the same window.
