Salernitana’s Flavius Daniliuc has been one of the many names linked with a move to Celtic over the past couple of months. The Hoops, after all, do seem to be in the market for a centre-back.
The defender had a recent loan stint at RB Salzburg and has now returned to the Italian side. In the meantime, Celtic remain an interested party and that’s covered in a fresh report from Italy.
TuttoSalernitana provide some hope to Celtic about signing the 23-year-old centre-back, who was loaned out to Salzburg in January and spent half a season in Austria.
Celtic could ‘return to charge’ for the player and Salzburg may be looking to take the player back, potentially on a permanent transfer this time.
Daniliuc has a release clause worth €5m in his Salernitana deal and there has also been interest from Como. The newly promoted Serie A outfit could propose a deal which includes players to lower Salernitana’s valuation.
There’s clearly a deal there to be done for Celtic, if Brendan Rodgers desires.
