With transfer deadline day right around the corner, Brendan Rodgers and his men at Celtic are running out of time to sign a striker.
One player who would certainly welcome a move to Parkhead is Sydney van Hooijdonk, son of Pierre, and the good news for him is something is brewing.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Celtic ‘have come forward’ for the Dutch goalscorer, who also has requests from Turkey, Spain and Holland.
Bologna do want rid of him, as him leaving would allow them to move for AZ Alkmaar’s Jens Odgaard, who wants the transfer to Italy.
Corriere di Bologna also mention Celtic as they cover the future of Van Hooijdonk, explaining that, as of yet, nothing he is interested has arrived.
However, they believe the ‘right key’ could arrive in ‘the next few hours’, and a ‘proposal from a club the boy likes is expected’, which is when the Scottish Premiership side are brought up.
Either way, interested clubs are told they have until 8pm on the ‘day after tomorrow’, meaning deadline day, to bring their bids forward for Van Hooijdonk.
Celtic know what to do…
