With just a few hours in the transfer window left in France, Lyon are still trying to get Celtic’s Moussa Dembélé.
In an article on L’Equipe’s website this morning, it was explained the French striker was trying to force a move away from Celtic Park, even presenting his case to the club’s board, trying to bypass Brendan Rodgers’ reluctance to see him leave.
However, there has been some progress in talks, although it still isn’t what the player wanted.
According to Bilel Ghazi, the man at L’Equipe in charge of the story, Celtic have folded in some shape or form, agreeing that Dembélé will be allowed to leave in January, thus allowing them more time to get the replacement they desire.
While that is a step in the right direction, the journalist explains it isn’t enough for the club’s star, who wants to leave this summer and have a full season with Lyon, rather than joining them halfway through.
Only time will tell if this develops further, but there isn’t much of it left.
