Leeds United co-owner Massimo Cellino has taken another step towards returning to Italy following reports he’s put in an official offer for Brescia. The Italian also looks on the verge of ending his time at Leeds United after reports last week he’s set to sell his remaining shares in the club.
TWM have reported Cellino submitting an offer of €5m to Brescia last Friday, which would mean he’d get a 50% stake in the Serie B side. The Leeds United chief is also prepared to take on the debt of Brescia, which is reported to be in the region of €7.5m.
Cellino has been linked with the club in recent months, but an offer had to wait because he had to be certain the Italian side didn’t drop down to Lega Pro.
Last week it was claimed Cellino will sell his remaining shares to Andrea Radrizzani in the coming weeks. Radrizzani has already started making his own changes at Leeds United after recently bringing in former Real Madrid director Ivan Bravo.
Now Brescia are safe from relegation, Cellino can now press ahead with buying into the club, and selling off his 50% stake in Leeds United.
