Midfielder Dani Ceballos is likely to leave Arsenal this summer when his loan spell from Real Madrid comes to an end, according to claims from Spain today.
The Spaniard is spending the season on loan at the Emirates, having moved from Madrid in search of regular game time that wasn’t on offer at the Bernabeu.
His time with Arsenal started on a bright note as he shone in his first few games but, like their form, that soon faded away and he found himself struggling to make an impact.
Several small injuries have also limited his chances of being a regular, although he has featured more prominently since Mikel Arteta replaced Unai Emery in December.
That, though, has not convinced him to stay at the club long term as far as Marca are concerned.
The newspaper reports that Ceballos has made it clear that he wants to leave Arsenal and ‘he wants to play in Spain’ next season.
That shouldn’t been too much of a problem either, with Valencia still keen on signing him. They were open to a deal in January and pushed for it, only to be knocked back by Real Madrid.
They felt that Ceballos was better served completing his loan spell with Arsenal, although Ceballos felt a move was better as his lack of playing time was harming his chances of going to Euro 2020.
That, of course, has not ended up being a problem after the tournament was postponed until next year because of the Coronavirus outbreak.
Still, he remains determined to make it into the squad and seemingly feels his chances will be better served if he is playing in Spain rather than England.
Valencia are happy to take him, with it explained that manager Albert Celades believes he will fit into his squad nicely and could be an ideal alternative to Dani Parejo.
