Last weekend, Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu had given an interview to Mundo Deportivo to talk about his first clash against his old manager Pep Guardiola in the Premier League.
After the match, the Catalan outlet took the opportunity and interviewed the player again, this time to analyse Manchester City’s tactics ahead of the Champions League match against Barcelona.
“He has a very particular style and it’s worked wherever he’s been,” Deulofeu said about Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.
Asked about Claudio Bravo, the Everton player said: “He has a great impact on the building stage. It’s very difficult to press him because then you let a player free and it opens spaces behind ”
Deulofeu also evaluated City’s back four: “It’s a very balanced defence. They’ve got range to the wings and combine both physical and game analysis.
“If you give them the ball, you’re lost,” said Deulofeu about Manchester City’s midfield. He also called Fernandinho “irreplaceable in Guardiola’s system” and said Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva “do things who very few can”.
Asked to comment on City’s attack, he summed it all up by praising Kun Aguero: “He’s pure instinct. He creates danger from nothing and it relieves you to have him as a reference.”
