Barcelona signed Paulinho from Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande last summer and he’s been a pretty good transfer.
But, according to Mundo Deportivo, Paulinho has not ruled out a move away from the La Liga winners in the summer transfer window, despite feeling comfortable at the club. He is currently on international duty with Brazil at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Barcelona paid €40m to Guangzhou Evergrande to secure Paulinho’s services. The report claims the Spanish champions are ready to sanction his sale if they receive an offer higher than that.
The Catalan club have received an offer, which was brought to them by the player‘s agent Kia Joorabchian. Mundo claims it was the South American midfielder who validated it, before his representative took the offer to his employers.
Barcelona lost Andrés Iniesta at the end of the last season and have already signed Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool in January. They have an agreement with Gremio for Arthur and are also after Ajax’s Frenkie de Jong.
The arrival of his compatriot and Barcelona chasing the Dutchman has made Paulinho aware that it will be difficult for him to be a regular starter, if Valverde has more options during the team selection.
If Barcelona receive an offer for Paulinho, which satisfies the club and the player, then the midfielder’s sale can be possible this summer.
