Carlo Ancelotti may have dropped a big hint on the Rangers managerial situation, with son Davide Ancelotti absent from his official staff list for Brazil.

AS cover the situation today and explain that Ancelotti listed his group of assistants to lead the Brazilian national team this week as he gets set to start work with the national team.

This list, though, did not include his son Davide, who the newspaper say is set to start his own career as a head coach, after multiple claims he’s set for a move to Ibrox and a Rangers challenge.

“He’s currently negotiating with a European team,” the Italian explained when asked about the situation.

“So, I didn’t think it was right for him to come here. If he stays with the team, I wish him the best. If not, he can come back to us at any time.”

AS then add that everything seems to indicate that the Ancelotti duo will not be staying together, with Rangers currently the side that want to hire Ancelotti junior.

He’s been linked with the role at Ibrox for several weeks, with it now seemingly a choice between him and Steven Gerrard, who remains out of work after leaving Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq at the beginning of the year.

The fact Ancelotti is not in his father’s list for Brazil suggests the Italian is a serious candidate, and a move to Ibrox remains a serious possibility.
