The talk of the town in Atalanta, Timothy Castagne took the next step of his career last summer when he swapped Italy for Leicester City.
Sought by Brendan Rodgers for the right-back role, the Belgian was seen as the ideal man for the position in the Foxes manager’s plans, and he showed just why in the early stages of the season.
An injury stopped him in his tracks, from which Castagne has now recovered, and the defender has made the most of his comeback by returning into Roberto Martínez’s plans for the national team.
The defender spoke to Le Soir over the weekend, where he explained why he adapted so quickly to life in Leicester, with the manager playing a great part in that and the likes of Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet lending a helping hand when needed.
As for his career so far, Castagne feels everything has gone to plan, including this move.
He said: “I’ve been well helped by my entourage. I always made the right choices in my transfers. We never skipped a level by aiming too high. We always made sure to choose teams fitting my style of play. I’m not going to speak too quickly, but for now, my career is flawless”.
