Whilst much of the French media are still pretty pessimistic over Cardiff City’s chances of signing Emiliano Sala, Ouest France are taking the opposite road.
Ouest obviously means West, and Nantes is one of the newspaper’s major local clubs, so it would appear the word coming from them is optimistic.
The newspaper, in their Tuesday edition, say that Sala’s transfer to Cardiff is now ‘hot’, after the player made the roundtrip to Wales on Monday.
They state the Argentine striker is ‘close to being transferred’, and as of last night the agreement seems to be on track.
Nantes, for all their efforts, are expected to get around €22m, and it’s a big wages deal which it’s believed Sala is now tempted to take.
On €50k a month at Nantes, the 28 year old would pick up €300k at the Premier League club, and without any other offers on the table which his club would agree to, it’s got to be something which provokes serious thought.
