Bologna’s Jhon Lucumí has ‘captured the attention’ of Manchester United and a few other clubs.
That’s according to Claro Sports, who state Manchester United and Juventus are set to battle it out with Atlético Madrid for the 25-year-old in the summer window.
The report mainly focuses on the La Liga side’s interest and their plan to secure the defender’s services.
Los Rojiblancos sporting director Andrea Berta is in favour of the centre-back’s arrival at the club, in order to help Diego Simeone have more options in defence next season.
The Colombia international’s deal lasts until 2026 and Claro Sports state the Madrid club are willing to negotiate with the Serie A side with an initial proposal of €13m, including bonuses.
This indicates the Spanish club’s desire to acquire the player’s signature, but they have to be wary of the competition from Manchester United and the Turin club.
It’s claimed both Manchester United and the Old Lady have ‘expressed interest’ in signing Lucumí and that would make the ‘negotiations complicated’ for Atlético. The latter, for now, will continue to keep a close eye on him until the end of this season.
The South American has made 26 appearances for the Italian club this season.
